The Project
“Things Did Not Go as Planned” is not a complaint; it is a declaration.
We are taught to build linear paths: Graduate, Move, Work, Get Married, Succeed. We spend our lives trying to stay within the lines. We optimize our calendars, we follow the “proven” paths, and we fear the “Game Over” screen.
But in July 2025, after years in Ireland, the remaining of my linear path completely dissolved. Returning to France meant returning to the “Starting Zone” and starting again : my childhood home, my old streets, and a familiar blank canva.
This project is an exploration of the side path. It is a documentation of what happens when the script fails and you have to start rewriting everything on your own.
Tales of detours, discoveries, and lessons learned off the main path. These are the moments that didn’t go as planned and that’s what made them unforgettable.
The ‘Art of Returning’
In here, we will also explore the ‘Art of Returning’. Sometimes, the biggest adventure isn’t going away but it’s coming back and seeing the old world through new eyes. This blog documents what happens when you return back home but find that you’ve leveled up in a way that make it harder to find the inital plans. When what used to be familiar became unfamiliar and a new adventure lies ahead.
The Forge: Shadow & Steel
While I wait for the “Big City” quest to unlock, I am not standing still. I am in The Forge.
Shadow & Steel is my private conditioning project. It is a daily practice designed to bridge the gap between the person I was and the person I need to become. It is how I turn uncertainty into structure, and fear into forward motion while still having fun. It is built on three pillars of influence:
- Grit : Holding the light when the path gets dark. Sometimes we have to stay even if it would be easier to leave.
- Disciplined Grace: Moving as if every step matters.
- Resourcefullness : Making something from almost nothing.
I don’t publish the full Codex of this training here. The Forge details is, for now, private.
What I share instead is the Steel through Dispatches.
The resilience. The lessons. The shifts in perspective.
Proof that something is being built, quietly, day by day.
The map is redrawn. The forge is hot. The journey is the point.
